The End of Phase 1
Phase one was full of learning and cleansing. I found that the cleansing process can be both stinky and enlightening. Of course, when you do a thorough detox, as in phase one, things may be a bit uncomfortable and stinky. However, once that has passed a lot of other, better, things show up. For instance, One day I found that the orchid sitting next to my sink that I had not been able to smell for months finally had aroma. Some things that I did not like to eat before now taste good. I find that I am actually more sensitive to salt and sugar than I once was. Many things taste and smell different. I don't know how to explain all of it but it is a good thing. I have also found that the method of eating 3 small meals and 3 snacks has helped a lot in my feeling hungry throughout the day. This also helps me keep a more steady flow of energy through the day as well. I making small changes each day so that it is not overwhelming. I feel I will also have better success if it is not so sudden. So I now have better eating habits. I use to eat very little and now I eat properly and more often. Even more importantly I eat BETTER food. So all natural, no hormones, cage-free, vegetarian feed, organic foods that are in season. I am already gluten-free but in phase one also dairy free as well as drinking a lot of water. I have seen huge progress in just these changes. I have lost around 10 lbs in 28 days. Not to bad. But, more importantly, I am more healthy than ever and getting better each day. It is not easy but it is worth it. So far the biggest hurtle has been getting past my own mental blocks about things in general. I like the changes I am seeing and I will let you know how Phase 2 is going tomorrow.
